Yatai Karasu Tengu

Easily one of the best Yatai’s I went to while in Fukuoka. You really get to meet some interesting people when dinning at a Yatai. I can proudly say i met a friend here that lives in Chiba. The owner is a funny & amazing chef!

English QR Menu available! Delicious yakitori, we got the pork belly, chicken/scallion, chicken gizzards, and chicken heart. They were all cooked to perfection, especially the pork belly and chicken/scallion. The seasoning/chilli powder with the tangerine flavoring made it stand out even more. The staff were both so friendly and the server will offer to take a photo outside after your visit. Definitely worth the wait if there’s a line and want to street stand experience in Fukuoka. It’s also away from the Nakasu crowds so the waits are shorter.

An amazing experience… We arrived early, while they were still setting everything up for the day, and with precision they opened up at 7:00 pm sharp. Their welcoming attitude was great, since we were in line, they offered us the menu with a QR for the English version, so we were ready to order once we sat down. They cook everything on the spot, and everything is absolutely fresh, the care and dedication taken to the preparation of each is amazing, and the flavor, the best tsukune yakitori I’ve ever tasted, and everything else was outstanding, we recommend it 110%, it was fabulous! The place was packed with customers from early on, and we had to wait quite a long time, but the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. We were able to chat with the regulars, and it was a very pleasant food stall. We ordered various things like oden and yakiramen, but it was so delicious that I forgot to take pictures. We'll definitely go again!

After chancing upon a Youtube feature, I was excited to go for my first Yatai experience and i have to say i was not disappointed at all! Big appreciation to Mr Okamura and his wife's Aki dedication to the quality of food, the friendly atmosphere and the ease of ordering especially for foreign tourists like us. Due to language barrier, i couldn't ask if Mr Okamura is now in better health after the summer heat incident? Thank you Mr Okamura and Aki for the great food and experience, i hope your business continues to shine brightly!
