Phi banh mi

So far the best banh mi we've had in Vietnam. Fresh, packed with deliciously marinated meat and veg! And toasted in the end. Very polite and friendly owner! He was very open and invited us for the next day so he can show us how he prepares his meat! Make the journey cos its absolutely worth it. We had a special one with avocado!!! Yum yum yum

Unfortunately not the best banh mi as the ratings seem to rave about. The sandwich was full, yes they give the most out of the fillings, but the pork didn't have much taste, they barely put any sauce inside the sandwich and just a slight amount of pate. Good prices and quick service, they even have the option to add avocado for an extra 10,000.

Just back from eating here after finding out the place we intended to eat was closed. And what a stroke of luck it was. We had the house special with avocado which Pauline absolutely loved, while I had a chicken and cheese. They marinate the chicken and pork overnight so it has so much flavour. I was ready to rate mine a solid 8.5 until I remembered watching a video talking about Phi's special chili sauce. The addition of this magnificent sauce elevated the banh mi to a 9 and even an almost perfect 10. Great amount of fillings with more pickled veg than most, and the roll is finished off with a quick warming over hot coals. Phi is a lovely host and the wall filled with his family photos make it feel like you are in his house with him. Eat here... it's that simple. And ask for the special chili sauce!

Best Banh mi in Vietnam! Absolute legend of an owner and so friendly. Clean and delicious. Fantastic flavours very fresh and clean.

Cute family run restaurant not too far from Hoi an old town. Owner makes the Banh Mi’s with love and is passionate about his homemade chili sauce. Honestly the best banh mi I’ve had all trip and I’ve been to quite a few here. We got the traditional Vietnamese with egg and the chicken with avocado, owner even cut both in half :-)
