Very very flavorful! Just on the streets but the food was super tasty and flavorful. The meat was tender and had a hint of chives with pork fat. The glaze on the pork was top-notch. Staff will assist you all the way. Menu option is good but order the grilled pork with egg! The rice was also cooked to perfection. Amazing experience!
A hidden gem tucked away in a small alley! If you’re looking for an authentic local breakfast in Ho Chi Minh City, this is a must-visit. The broken rice (cơm tấm) is cooked perfectly, and the charcoal-grilled pork is incredibly tender, smoky, and full of flavour. Everything is prepared fresh, and you can taste the difference. The portions are generous, prices are very reasonable, and the sweet fish sauce ties everything together beautifully. Don’t expect a fancy restaurant—it’s a humble, local eatery with limited seating, but that’s exactly what makes the experience so authentic. Friendly service, quick turnaround, and a steady stream of locals are always a good sign. If you’re in HCMC, skip the tourist spots and have breakfast/brunch/ lunch or dinner here at least once. One of the best local meals I had in Saigon!
We were here for dinner around 8pm. The place was packed, so it got around 10mins for us to get the table. Some dishes were sold out early, so dont get here late if you/your group want to try all the menu. The meats here are so flavorful and tender, but not too salty. The meatloaf is just oke to our taste. The fish sauce- nước-mắm here is light to balanced out the flavors of the meats and the rice together. The portion of everything is good
Grilled pork broken rice. Wasn't exactly where I will sit down for a meal - I'm ok with roadside but this was in an alley that barely had any space, but how glad I am to have tried this. There were only space for either motorcycles/pedestrian to walk in a single file and then its a square table width for 1 person to sit along the walls to eat. We had the grilled pork belly and the ribs options. Personally.. I feel the belly was the better option because I liked the combination of the fatty portion and the lean meat in the pork belly, you get the best of both worlds since the marinade is the same. The ribs felt a little chalky, JUST A LITTLE, when compared to the belly. The marinade reminded me of the Chinese charsiu. Broken rice is interesting, as I've never had it before, and the broken aspect of it seemed to go better with the sweet grilled pork. Drizzling a bit of the fish sauce also lifted the dish a little.
BBQ pork is good. I think it's not actually BBQ but deep fried because i don't see them grilling it there. There is no char on the meat but the colour looks really good The pork seems to be simmered in BBQ sauce or deep fried. The sauce and flavour is the best among other Com Tam I've eaten recently. Nothing to shout about for other components
