Best place for the traditional cakes in Hue in my opinion. We went here after our visit in Thien Mu pagoda for a light snack. Everything was good. Although you may need to wait for a little bit if they're crowded since there's only one guy preparing the cakes. We love their tapioca cake so much we decided to order for the uncooked ones for gifts

Banh beo from this small family-owned restaurant is my new favourite dish! All dishes ate prepared freshly. Portions are perfectly sized either if you come for a snack or if you want a full meal (in that case, just repeat your order, like we did)

Came here for a quick lunch and to see how true the reviews were. Seems no one speaks English but we were served by a jolly elderly man who taught us by pointing which sauce goes on which food. Food quality is great - heads up, I personally like subtle and plain flavours rather than overly spiced/salty etc. The portions however were quite small and we left feeling hungry. And being charged $160k is a little steep for Vietnam prices. But overall experience, worth it.

Nested deep in a village, cars can squeeze in the alleyway but it's better to walk there from the road. Uncle was super tentative, warm and funny. The food was superb while being quite affordable as well. Best food experience in Hue city.

Owner uncle is extremely friendly and has been selling for over 50 years in the front yard in the suburbs. He only serves 4 items. All were good but I ordered additional servings of Banh It Ram since its much more rare to find stateside. It was full of locals, mostly families. Stop by before your visit to the Imperial City.
