Lẩu Gà Lá É, one of Da Lat's signature dishes, and it definitely lived up to the hype. Every ingredient tasted fresh, making the hotpot both comforting and delicious. This is the perfect meal for Dalat's weather. Sitting around a steaming pot of Lẩu Gà Lá É while enjoying the chilly atmosphere made the experience even better.
If you're in Da Lat and haven't tried this, you're missing out big time! It’s the ultimate "soul food" for a chilly night in the highlands. The Vibe: Usually humble, crowded, and bustling. You’ll feel the local warmth the moment you sit down. The Taste: The broth is sweet and savory with a kick of chili, but the real star is the Lá É (white basil). Once you dip those leaves in, the aroma is just "chef’s kiss"—distinctly herbal and super refreshing. The Chicken: Firm, chewy (the good kind!), and soaks up all that spicy-sour goodness perfectly.
I can call it the one of many Vietnamese real Comfort food. I Order the lau ga la e Chicken & mushroom soup, grilled chicken, and bamboo sticky rice. The portion is beyond our expectation, we order the smallest size soup (for 2 person), but the three of us ended up very full and cant finish the soup. Both the soup and grilled chicken used a free range village chicken i guess, the size and juiciness is not common. The taste is another experience. Grilled chicken is well seasoned and well cooked. The Chicken soup is a little light for our asian palate (at first), but the green chilli sauce is the game changer. Fresh, not too spicy, sweet-sour, tabasco-ish taste, really lift up the whole dish. And last but not least, the sticky rice, you eat it with a sugar & grinded peanut. The sweet and umami taste really make the whole meal unforgettable.
Our friend recommended this place. Their barbecue chicken is really good, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It is perfect with the coriander sauce they have. We (4 of us) also ordered the hotpot for 2pax which was more than enough. The hotpot was packed with more chicken and tons of oyster mushroom. The soup is towards the sweet taste. On top of the hotpot, we also ordered chicken gizzards which was nicely seasoned. Generally food was nice, environment is ok, just a normal stall but not a restaurant if you are expecting to go somewhere nice.
A great place for Chicken Hotpot with E-Leaves. The chicken meat is firm and naturally sweet. The broth tastes like pure chicken stock without too many artificial seasonings. All the vegetables and mushrooms are very fresh, and the service is super fast. The restaurant has a parking lot for cars, which is very convenient. It is a famous spot visited by many celebrities and foreign tourists. You should come early to get a table because it gets crowded quickly!
