Phở Ông Vui - Hàng Giầy

My very first bowl of Northern Pho in the old quarter....this ended up being my favourite joint that I returned multiple times during my stay! The broth is so clean and beefy. It's communal seating and the people around me were teaching me how to eat my pho Bo after I told them it was my first time in Vietnam and I had just landed... They didn't know that I have had my fair share of Hanoi style pho back home in Vancouver so when they saw me doing my thang they complemented me lol!!! For my 3rd visit I added nuoc beo and omg Sooo Goooood😋 The family working there were super friendly towards me each time, and there is a really cute cat that lives upstairs. Honestly the best, better than the other places I tried that were adorned with Michelin stickers and long lineups.

My FAVORITE pho shop of my whole trip! Quality and taste EVERY time. Great employees. Local restaurant cat wandering around. Great green tea. Great location! Highly recommend. I probably went 4-5 times when I was in Hanoi.

Our hotel recommended this place to enjoy a tasty Pho Bo. It did not disappoint at all! The soup was one of the best I've ever eaten (and I tried a lot of Pho) and the atmosphere is authentic. Both locals and tourists go there to eat, which is usually a very good sign. The "Pho Lady" is also a treat, she does not speak English, but she is so very sweet and kind. We came back the day after. We tried both the typical pho bo and the special. Both very tasty, the special one had a little too much fatty meat for my personal taste, but it still was excellent. And by all means take the fried bread sticks 🤣 FYI backpackers: No belly ache afterwards whatsoever. Highly recommend 💪🏻

Local is the best. Indeed. There are only 2 long table, small shop, but the taste was WOW They only sell 2 types, beef and pork My family agreed that beef is the best. We back 2 times 👍🏻 Put some limes and chili sauce, then its perfect

The best pho I have had in Vietnam!! It’s very small so you will be sat on a table close to other people but we didn’t mind. The broth was rich and the beef was delicious. At a good price as well. It was better than the Michelin rated place we tried the night after!!!
