Mr Bảy Miền Tây - Bánh Xèo

So super yummy Banh Xeo - highly recommend you to try it out for yourselves. The pancake was really sizeable and was filled with yummy, hot and tender stir fried beef inside it (I ordered the beef one, you can also get it with chicken and seafood). Each bite was filled with the delicious beef. The big pancake was also cut into even pieces for you beforehand, to be wrapped with greens. There is a guide on the wall that teaches you how to wrap the pancake with the greens and the Vietnamese rice paper, before dipping it in a sauce. Very authentic dining experience and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The menu was wide and I wanted to get more items, but the lady at the shop told me to stick with the Banh Xeo first as the portion is big for one. Thankful for that advice as I was indeed full at the end of my meal, but wish also that I got to try all the dishes there! An extra unique and memorable moment was when the electricity went off suddenly during my meal and there was a blackout. Will definitely like to be back again and highly recommend! Staff were friendly too and indulged in me taking videos of them.

I first tried banh xeo in Da Nang and absolutely loved it, so when I heard there was a Michelin-rated banh xeo restaurant in Hanoi, I immediately knew we had to try it. Honestly, it didn’t disappoint. The banh xeo was crispy, buttery, flavorful, and really satisfying to eat. I also liked that they have instructions posted on every table on how to properly eat it, which was really helpful especially for tourists trying banh xeo for the first time. I also tried the fresh spring rolls, but personally they weren’t for me. Maybe just a preference thing since I realized I’m not really a fan of that style of fresh rolls. The place itself felt local and authentic, and prices were reasonable too considering it’s Michelin-rated. Only downside during our visit was one of the servers had pretty strong body odor, and unfortunately we could smell it every time he passed by our table. We actually wanted to order another banh xeo because we enjoyed it, but the smell honestly affected the experience for us. Still, overall worth trying if you’re in Hanoi and craving good banh xeo ✨

So goooooood ! My all-time favorite restaurant in Hanoi. I discovered this place randomly in the old quarter, and I loved it ! I took the Mr Bay Banh Xeo, that includes coconut ! And this is my best choice, as my friends chose the pork and shrimp one, I can tell the coconut makes the difference ! And I took minced pork skewers that was delicious too. The service and atmosphere was really nice and chill (I came a bit late, 9pm, compared to Vietnamese schedule) I definitely recommend !

What a great place. Staff is super kind, and speaks English well. Banh xeo is great. Fresh, tasty, and textures are amazing. Nem lui and noodles are not exceptional compared to other places. But the kindness of staff and the ratio of price/quality (excellent) of the Banh xeo makes it my favorite place in Hanoi so far! I would definitely recommend

I love how they provide explanations on how to eat Banh Xeo and the veggie herbs along with it. It's really helpful in identifying which herbs I love most! They are also generous in the size but I wish they can have slightly more meat The egg pancake is so crispy! It really gives the wrap a crispy and nice bite along with the veggies. The herbs are in abundance and they top it up upon request specific herbs that you want. I was hoping if they have coriander but there seems to be a shortage? The fish sauce to dip with is nice too. Overall I had such a satisfying time eating and wrapping. Such a simple dish yet so much texture and taste. Great 👍
