Bun Cha Ta Hanoi

This is the second time i went to eat here and no regrets. The food here is amazing. The charred flavour of the broth with the vermicelli noodles goes so well today. The amount of meat inside is so generous. And not leaving out the spring rolls. I tried all the different spring rolls and honestly its so much better then the others ones i've had. My favourite is the traditional spring rolls. This place is definitely worth the visit!!

Good taste I like it even this is my first time for this menu. The problem is cleanliness is very poor. I understand it is a street food but for tableware that not clean like picture I post You can see black spot that mean not carefully wash. On the wall had a lot of spider web which mean it too long time after big clean. 2nd floor require to take off your shoe but the floor that you need to take off and stand before get in really dirty. Only once here. The price is reasonable not cheap nor expensive.

I was not expecting much when I entered this restaurant. I was not even aware that it has been awarded with a Bib Gourmand designation. All I know is that it is Bun Cha Hanoi is a must-try when going to Hanoi and this restaurant happens to be a few steps from my accommodation. Safe to say there were no regrets! I could not even finish an entire bowl of pho, but I definitely devoured every piece of meat and strand of rice noodle from this dish. The service was also fast as we got seated right away and food was served minutes after ordering. Atmosphere-wise, it tends to get busy as people come and go and cleanliness could be greatly improved. Also, when it comes to pricing, I do not have a benchmark as to whether it was too expensive as it was my first time trying Bun Cha Hanoi.

The Bun Cha is excellent and certainly lives up to its Michelin Guide recognition. ​The grilled pork is expertly marinated with lemongrass (香矛) and spices, yielding a tender flavor that complements the fresh, mildly sweet dipping broth. The traditional spring rolls were perfectly crispy. While the crab spring rolls were pleasant, they did have a slight fishy aftertaste. ​We visited at 2:30 PM and found the restaurant uncrowded with no queue required. A notable drawback is that the upstairs dining area can be warm due to limited air conditioning. ​Overall, this restaurant is definitely worth the visit.

I wouldn’t call myself a bun cha expert, but the dish I tried was enjoyable. I loved the fresh vegetables and herbs—pairing them with spring rolls and adding the chopped garlic and pepper provided really elevated the flavor. Bun cha itself is a mix of seasoned ground pork and grilled pork served in a sweet fish sauce broth. With the noodles and vegetables added in, it almost feels like a soup. Again, I’m no connoisseur, but I thought it was tasty, even if I’m not sure how I’d rate it overall. As for the restaurant, our seating was on the third floor without air conditioning (the first floor had it). Shoes off was the rule, and the service was attentive and friendly. Note on my rating scale: Sharing this for transparency, as I recognize that a 3-star review may be misinterpreted as reflecting a mediocre experience. 5 stars – Exceptional: Outstanding food, service, and/or overall experience. Truly worth going out of your way for. 4 stars – Very Good: Exceeds expectations in quality, service, or ambiance. 3 stars – Good: A solid experience that meets expectations. I consider any place with 3 stars or above worthy of a return visit. 2 stars – Disappointing: Falls short in food quality or service. 1 star – Poor: Not recommended.
